We are pleased to introduce BNP’s Vice President, Member Engagement & Development, Liz Benkovich as our latest Staff Spotlight.

As a coach, manager, and mentor, Liz works with the entire team to inspire members to help them gain the full benefits of the Partnership allowing them to grow, thrive, and to reach their full potential.

Learn a little bit more about Liz in this brief Q&A.

Q. What is your background in/what type of work were you in before the Partnership?

A. I was in show business!  Consumer Home & Garden Show production, that is. My work involved collaborating with show teams in the Northeastern U.S. regarding the execution of home shows in their markets. It involved sales management, marketing, feature development, local initiatives, and creating memorable experiences.

Q. Tell us a little-known fact about yourself.

A. If I told you, then it would not be little-known anymore, now would it?

Q. What do you like to do for fun?

A. Travel to new lands, near and far, execute a home décor project, garden, and spend time with my family and friends (only the fun ones.)

Q. Best Buffalo Hidden Gem.

A. The Carmelite Convent. Having gone to Holy Angels Academy, the Carmelites were fascinating since the Convent was right next door. They are an order of amazing nuns that include cloistered nuns, rarely, if ever, seen in public. The nuns have a rigorous existence of prayers, caring for the sick, and chores. Through the years, friends and family have found peace and comfort in visiting the Convent. It is a special place.

Q. What is your favorite part about living in Buffalo?

A. The weather. I bet you did not expect that. With the changing weather comes unique experiences, seasonal excitement, and tradition.

Q. What are you doing differently post-pandemic that you didn’t do before?

A. Listening to podcasts and taking much longer walks at night.

Q. What do you like best about working from home?

A. Being able to step outside to take a break, making lunch in my kitchen, maximizing the day in every way, and having time and space to think through the day’s challenges and solutions.

Q. Since you are no longer commuting to work, how do you fill your drive time?

A. Working in the morning and walking right after work, but only earlier since I don’t have the drive time.
