As businesses evolve and adapt to new challenges, the need for strong, capable leaders has never been more critical. The Buffalo Niagara Partnership recognizes this need, which is why we've developed BNP Grow—an initiative focused on preparing future leaders to navigate the complexities of today’s business world.

What Is BNP Grow?

This program is designed to equip rising professionals with the skills they need to lead with confidence. BNP Grow will set employees on a growth path to leadership, giving them the essential professional skills and knowledge they need to thrive. The program provides opportunities for employees to gain insight into their unique value as well as better understand how to navigate the workplace for success.

Expert Guidance from Industry Leaders

One of the most valuable aspects of this program is the opportunity to learn directly from experienced professionals who have faced—and overcome—similar challenges. Our expert moderators bring years of experience to the table, sharing strategies and insights that go beyond the textbook. Participants benefit from their firsthand knowledge, gaining a deeper understanding of leadership through real-world examples and case studies.

Our list of moderators includes:

  • Althea Luehrsen – Owner of August Moon Consulting
  • Maureen Hammett– CEO Hammett Leadership Development
  • John Scannell – Former CEO, Moog
  • Lynne Thornton - Leadership Coach and Consultant

A Focus on Practical Skills

The Leadership Development Program is structured to provide participants with the core skills necessary for effective leadership:

  • Finding your Strengths: Understanding how your strengths help contribute to your company’s broader business goals.
  • Effective Workplace Communication: Developing the ability to communicate clearly and inspire teams both internally and externally.
  • How to Be Intentional with Career Goals: Learn to be intentional with making your aspirations and career goals known, proactively connecting with decision-makers and colleagues to open doors to new career opportunities.

These core skills are vital for anyone looking to move into leadership roles, making this program an ideal fit for professionals looking to grow within their organizations.

Why It Matters

Leadership development isn’t just about personal growth—it’s about creating a pipeline of future leaders who can help sustain and grow business organizations. As industries shift and change, having a group of well-prepared leaders can make all the difference in staying competitive and innovative.

By fostering a new generation of leaders, we can ensure the continued growth and success of the region’s businesses.
