The Buffalo Niagara Partnership is thrilled to welcome Todd Brooks as its new Vice President of Finance & Operations.
In this role, Todd is responsible for overseeing financial management, administrative operations and organizational efficiency. Serving as the EOS Integrator, he ensures strategic alignment, fiscal sustainability and effective execution of BNP's mission and goals.
Get to know Todd, who comes to Buffalo from Waterloo, Ont., in this brief Q&A.
Tell us about your career background before joining the BNP.
I started my career as a CPA in public accounting, later moving to a global financial services company. There I became a CFA charterholder, holding several middle management roles in investment management and accounting for nearly 20 years.
How did your past experiences prepare you for your current role?
I have a mastery of financial governance, operations management and cross-functional leadership at a global scale. These skills position me to strengthen the BNP’s financial foundation, optimize operations and ensure alignment with its mission-driven growth objectives.
What inspired you to join the BNP?
I was inspired to join the Buffalo Niagara Partnership because it allows me to bring my finance and operations experience into a mission-driven role that strengthens the Buffalo Niagara business community. After years in global finance, I wanted to make direct impact locally, helping the BNP align strategy and operations to drive growth for employers and the region.
Share a little-known fact about yourself.
I have attended nearly 150 Bob Dylan concerts in several countries around the world, including nine in the Buffalo area. The first of these was May 11, 1996, at Buffalo State University’s Houston Gym.
What do you like to do for fun?
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active with golf and slow-pitch softball, following sports and spending time exploring new places – whether that’s a new restaurant in Buffalo or a trip abroad. I also enjoy relaxing with family and friends and catching a good game or concert.
Best hidden gem in Buffalo?
A lot of the fun in going to Bills games is in the community around the stadium. Hammer’s Lot is legendary in that regard if you’re into the fan traditions, tailgating and the whole atmosphere embodying the Bills Mafia.
What is your favorite part about living in the Buffalo area?
What I love about Buffalo is the combination of community spirit, sports culture and accessibility, along with the best chicken wing offerings in the world. It has big-city energy when it comes to events and professional teams, but it’s easy to get around, affordable and grounded in a real sense of pride and connection.
