The Buffalo Niagara Partnership is thrilled to welcome Emily Jaworski as its new Manager of External Affairs for the NY SMART I-Corridor.
In this role, Emily drives strategic communications and external engagement to accelerate semiconductor innovation and manufacturing across Upstate New York. She focuses on promoting the Tech Hub’s impact, building key partnerships and advancing initiatives that support both regional and national priorities in the semiconductor sector.

Tell us about your career background before joining the BNP.
I grew up working at Wegmans, and I also worked at a guitar shop while I was in college at Buffalo State. I began my communications career at sasi, a nonprofit that supports adults with developmental disabilities.
How did your past experiences prepare you for your current role?
My experience in communications taught me the power of storytelling. I enjoy sharing stories that connect with people and highlight the impact of our work. Those skills help me every day in my role at the BNP, promoting initiatives like the NY SMART I-Corridor.
What inspired you to join the BNP?
I loved being a member and attending the LinkUp networking series. They were a great way to meet people and make meaningful connections.
Share a little-known fact about yourself.
I originally wanted to work in radio.
What do you like to do for fun?
I love being outside and hiking. I’m working on hiking all 67 of the 4,000-foot mountains in the Northeast. I also enjoy music and playing the guitar.
Best hidden gem in Buffalo?
The Fretted Buffalo. It’s an incredible acoustic guitar shop on Amherst Street in Black Rock.
What is your favorite part about living in the Buffalo area?
Buffalo has the perfect balance – not too big, not too small. I love the strong sense of community and the pride we have for our city.
