The Buffalo Niagara Partnership convened leaders from across the region’s finance and insurance sectors on September 30 for the latest session of the BNP Industry Leaders Forum.Â
The conversation was led by Chris Mueller, Director – Merrill Lynch Market Executive, who provided perspective on trends in wealth management and the evolving financial landscape. Attendees then broke into smaller groups for peer-to-peer discussions focused on the issues affecting their organizations, clients and the broader Buffalo Niagara business community.Â

Evolving Customer and Business Expectations
Participants discussed how expectations are changing across banking, wealth management and insurance and how financial institutions are adapting their services and relationships accordingly.Â
Talent and Industry Transformation
The conversation also touched on attracting and developing talent as financial services organizations respond to new technologies, changing workforce expectations and evolving skill needs.Â
Regional Collaboration
Throughout the session, participants considered opportunities for Buffalo Niagara’s finance and insurance organizations to collaborate, share expertise and better support the businesses and economic development initiatives driving the region forward.Â
The Finance & Insurance session was part of the BNP Industry Leaders Forum, which brings together executives from Buffalo Niagara’s key industries to identify shared challenges, exchange ideas and strengthen the region’s economy.Â
