Niagara University and the Buffalo Niagara Partnership Team Up to Launch Second Session of BNP Grow Leadership Program

The BNP and NU join forces to deploy the second cohort of BNP Grow.

(BUFFALO, N.Y.) - The Buffalo Niagara Partnership (BNP) and Niagara University have joined forces to deliver the second cohort of BNP Grow, the BNP’s leadership development program designed to build the region’s next generation of business leaders.

BNP Grow equips emerging talent with essential professional skills, leadership knowledge, and a deeper understanding of their individual value in the workplace. The program supports participants in developing the tools they need to navigate the modern workplace and prepare for future leadership roles.

Designed for employees who show strong potential and are ready for foundational leadership development, the program was well received by its first cohort, which included 28 participants. That group completed eight 2-hour sessions over a three-month period, engaging in guided learning, peer discussions, and interactive workshops.

“We created BNP Grow to help employers invest in their rising talent—and we’re proud to partner with Niagara University to deliver this essential leadership program,” said Dottie Gallagher, President & CEO of the Buffalo Niagara Partnership. “The strong response to our first cohort proves there’s a real demand for professional development at this level. BNP Grow gives participants the tools, confidence, and connections they need to grow into effective leaders.”

With the support of Niagara University, the BNP will continue to enhance the BNP Grow curriculum by collaborating directly with the university’s team of experienced faculty. These academic experts bring deep knowledge in leadership theory, organizational behavior, and professional development, helping to ensure that the program delivers relevant, high-impact content. Their involvement will strengthen the educational foundation of BNP Grow and provide participants with proven strategies and tools to accelerate their leadership journey.

“Niagara University is proud to continue our collaboration with the Buffalo Niagara Partnership to develop leaders who will shape the future of our regional economy,” said the Rev. James J. Maher, C.M., president of Niagara University. “Our faculty brings both academic insight and real-world experience to the BNP Grow curriculum, ensuring participants gain practical skills they can apply immediately. Together, we’re preparing professionals to lead with purpose, integrity, and impact in today’s dynamic workplace.”

The continuation of BNP Grow reflects the Partnership’s commitment to supporting employer talent strategies and Niagara University’s expertise in leadership education.
