Government Affairs (GA) work combines government relations, media communications, issue management, corporate and social responsibility, information dissemination and strategic communications advice. Professionals involved in Government Affairs work aim to influence public policy and find common ground with stakeholders.
The Buffalo Niagara Partnership’s Government Affairs Committee (GAC) is the main point of contact for Partnership advocacy at all levels of government. GAC consists of Partnership members interested in government and regularly meets with local, state and federal officials to convey the goals of our region’s business community. The GAC Speakers Series runs throughout the calendar year and provides Partnership members with intimate access to our region’s elected officials, often providing a “sneak peek” of upcoming initiatives and an insider’s perspective on current issues.
The Partnership addresses economic and regional development issues and opportunities and works to achieve policy action at all levels of government on behalf of regional employers. The Partnership advocates on specific issues related to employers, collaborating with partner organizations, and getting involved in political campaigns to create a more business-friendly climate, create jobs, and grow private investment.
The Partnership’s Political Action Committee (PAC) – the Committee for Economic Growth – also advocates for the Buffalo Niagara business community. Contributions to the PAC enable us to support candidates who understand the issues important to businesses, and will make the priorities of the Buffalo Niagara business community their own.
