ROCHESTER, NY – Unshackle Upstate today announced a major campaign to send a message to state legislators that voters stand ready to hold them accountable for the state’s poor financial condition.
ALBANY, NY – Unshackle Upstate today released its 2010 policy agenda that included $12 billion in cost savings for New York’s 2010-11 fiscal year. These aggressive but vitally needed recommendations will help bring New York on the road to fiscal reform.
“In our initial assessment of the governor’s 2010-11 budget proposal we are heartened by his attempt to control overall spending. However, given the state’s current and growing budget deficit, we’d much prefer to see the price tag for running New York State government go down. Anything but a reduction is too much.
Disappointed and discouraged by a year of missed opportunities and damaging mistakes by our New York state government, Unshackle Upstate, a bi-partisan coalition co-founded by the Buffalo Niagara Partnership, is stepping up its advocacy with a new and aggressive social media campaign.
(BUFFALO, NY) — The Buffalo Niagara Partnership joined with its Unshackle Upstate partners statewide today to call for the state legislature to reject the proposed state budget, saying its outrageous spending increase and new taxes will seriously damage the already suffering state economy.
