About being an ATHENA Award® Finalist

“I am so humbled and honored to have been selected as a finalist of the ATHENA Award.  This award reflects the highest level of professional excellence, recognizes time and energy invested to help improve the quality of life for others in our community and work done to assist others – especially women – in realizing their true leadership potential.  To be considered by members of our community as someone who exemplifies these qualities is very overwhelming to a girl who is a daughter and granddaughter of immigrants.  My grandparents and parents sacrificed so that I could have the opportunities I have today.  It was their values and hard work that push me to do the work I do every day.  It is because of them that I am reminded every day thatTo those whom much is given, much is required.
