She also works as the Senior Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Community Development at Evergreen Health in Buffalo, a nonprofit, multi-agency service group providing medical, pharmacy, housing, mental health, nutrition, transportation and syringe exchange services, as well as health education, health promotion and disease-specific prevention programs.

First Job Out of School

In her first job out of school, Tayrin worked as a Debt Recovery Specialist for Great Lakes Bureau.

 Career Highlights

Tayrin notes one of the first highlights of her career was when a 14-year-old girl told her during a workshop “Thank You for all that you are doing” with tears in her eyes. It was the first time the girl understood why her mom was so overprotective of her and her sister. The second highlight was meeting a young girl named Ally online from Oklahoma after she told Tayrin her story of being sexually assaulted. Since then, she and Tayrin have built a relationship and they hope one day to meet in person.

 On Buffalo Niagara

“I enjoy living in the Buffalo Niagara Region because it is community based and family oriented. I grew up in NYC until the age of 12. This has led me to appreciate a small home town type of city.”
