Meet This Week’s ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award® Finalist
Lipsitz & Ponterio, LLC
Anne Joynt is a junior partner with Lipsitz & Ponterio, LLC, a law firm in Buffalo where she represents people who have suffered injuries as a result of exposure to asbestos, as well as those affected by childhood lead poisoning, motor vehicle accidents, construction accidents, medical malpractice, and defective products. An experienced appellate attorney, litigator, and trial attorney, Anne has been with the law firm for 14 years.
Anne has received numerous awards and recognition including being named Woman Lawyer of the Year by Women Lawyers of Western New York. She recently served as president of the Western New York Chapter of the Women’s Bar Association, a statewide organization with 20 member chapters dedicated to the advancement of women in the law and in society.
Anne is currently secretary of the Minority Bar Association of Western New York Foundation, Inc., which provides financial assistance to minority students interested in pursuing a career in the law, and has served on the Board of Directors since 2015. She also currently serves as the assistant secretary to the University at Buffalo Law School Alumni Association and has served on that Board of Directors since 2013.
When Anne was in high school, she worked as a sales associate at Blissett’s, a small boutique in her hometown of Medina, New York, specializing in children’s clothes, as well as special occasion dresses and bridal gowns.
Anne says the greatest highlights of her career are the opportunities to make a meaningful difference in the lives of hundreds of families through her work, whether that is through litigation or trial.
