Vice President, Talent Programs

The Buffalo Niagara Partnership is the area’s regional chamber of commerce and privately-funded economic development organization. Partnership members employ more than a quarter of a million people in the Buffalo Niagara region. By mobilizing members and strategic partners around common goals, the Partnership grows private investment and jobs in Buffalo Niagara through advocacy, business development and convening.

The Partnership is hiring a Vice President, Talent Programs. The Vice President will be responsible for managing and developing programs and services offered by the Partnership to serve the talent needs of the membership (Workforce Development, Diversity and Inclusion and Leadership Development).

A primary emphasis will be to organize, support and manage the staff of the employer talent prototype team (where like-minded employers are brought together to create unique talent pipelines for their companies). The successful candidate will be sent to the US Chamber leadership institute on talent pipeline management to be trained for this role. Additionally, the successful candidate will be charged with developing a long-term business plan to support this work in both the short and long term and will have access to a national learning network for best practices in this area.

The Vice President will be a strategic leader in the organization, overseeing all the Partnership’s offerings in talent programming including BN360 (the young professionals’ program) and the Diversity and Inclusion Council.

Ultimately, the Vice President, Talent Programs has the responsibility to drive success – both via member engagement and revenue. As a member of the Partnership Senior Staff, the Vice President is responsible for helping set the strategic course of the organization.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership and management, including the development and execution of programming and business plan development and an entrepreneurial spirit. Experience in fundraising and development is required. The incumbent must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

A bachelor’s degree is required, MBA preferred. A minimum of seven to ten years’ experience in program management is required.
