Where We Stand: New York State Budget

The New York State Budget is so much more than dollars and cents. While it does direct spending over the next fiscal year, the state budget is also typically teeming with policy—legislation that impacts New York’s employers and taxpayers every single day. That is why the Buffalo Niagara Partnership is so actively engaged in state budget advocacy, making sure state leaders and Western New York’s senators and assembly members know what we support and what we oppose.

Metro 50 State Tax Evaluation

Metro 50: State Tax Environment

The Buffalo Niagara Partnership’s publication series Metro 50 Buffalo Niagara is a factsheet-style resource that evaluates Buffalo Niagara’s performance in topical areas related to economic development. Metro 50 takes a look at the progress of other peer metros – regions similar to ours in population, resources and economic challenges – and compares their progress to our own. This gives context to the performance of Buffalo Niagara and offers us the opportunity to learn from their best practices.

Where We Stand – NYS Executive Budget Proposal

The Buffalo Niagara Partnership detailed our state budget priorities in front of 200 people at our annual Legislative Luncheon.  Our members and many members of the Western New York legislative delegation came together for lunch and conversation at the Marriott in Amherst.  The Partnership detailed where we stand on Governor Cuomo’s Executive Budget proposal – specifically what we support, what we oppose and what we think is missing.
