With two seats on the Erie County Industrial Development Agency (ECIDA) board of directors, the Buffalo Niagara Partnership provides the lone and important private sector voice on the issues affecting development and job growth in the region.
More than 1,800 permanent new jobs have been produced and greater than 4 million square feet of vacant derelict properties in the City of Buffalo has been redeveloped and revitalized as a result of the Erie County Industrial Development Agency’s (ECIDA) Adaptive Reuse program. Simply put, this program is one of the most impactful and efficient economic development tools available to employers in Western New York.
The Buffalo Niagara region is undergoing an economic revitalization, however the future success of new construction projects and redevelopment is not guaranteed. Disjointed development policies and overly-burdensome regulations, often unique to Buffalo and New York State, create a challenging environment for projects to move forward. To build upon our momentum and truly achieve new growth, policies impacting local development must be aligned to achieve the prosperous future envisioned for Buffalo Niagara.
