New Staff Member: Meet Seth Piccirillo

We’re happy to welcome Seth Piccirillo to the Partnership team as our new Senior Manager of Economic Development! Learn a little bit more about Seth in this brief Q&A.

Q: What is your background in/what type of work were you in before the Partnership?

I have worked in community development, public transportation and state/local government throughout my career. I have a passion for grassroots decision making and have been fortunate to collaborate with a broad and far reaching group of special people.

Q: How did your past experience prepare you for your current role at the Partnership?

Significant accomplishments require cooperation, especially in Western New York. Time and time again, my experience has proven that employers and developers are change agents and deserve dynamic advocacy and support. I am excited to join the Partnership’s team, in service to the sustained economic health of our region.

Q: Tell us a little known fact about yourself:

I am training to run the full 2020 Buffalo Marathon in May. No better way to experience the neighborhoods of Buffalo than at street level, at a very, very slow pace.

Q: What do you like to do for fun?

Whenever weather permits, my wife Kelly and I enjoy taking our daughters Tessa (4) and Nola (2) to check out local playgrounds and parks. We especially like the Buffalo Harbor and DeVeaux Woods State Park Playgrounds.

Q: Best Buffalo Hidden Gem:

The Vanderbilt Stairs. The Niagara Gorge is home to a world-class hiking experience, and too few locals and tourists know it. The 315-foot Vanderbilt Stairs connect hikers to views of Class VI rapids at the flat rocks, and a trail directly to Artpark. I highly recommend visiting the gorge in every season and sharing the experience with as many visitors as possible.

Q: What is your favorite part about living in Buffalo?

Every neighborhood in Western New York provides a unique and memorable experience, ready to be shared though food, music, festivals and classic small businesses. Trips off the beaten path connect you to people who have seen it all, with a remarkable story to tell.
