Q: What is your background in/what type of work were you in before the Partnership?

A: I graduated with two degrees – a BA in Public Communication and a BS in Business Marketing from Buffalo State College (Go Bengals!). Prior to joining the Partnership, I worked as the Director of Community Relations at St. Mary’s School for the Deaf for just over seven years. In my role there I planned events, handled fundraising, coordinated marketing efforts and had the chance to learn sign language and showcase all the incredible students attending the school.

Q: How did your past experience prepare you for your current role at the Partnership?

A: I’ve always been involved in planning events – but nothing can quite prepare you for the fast-paced environment at the Buffalo Niagara Partnership. In my previous job, I wore many hats – and that is certainly true here. You learn to multi-task real fast. Being organized and having detailed to-do lists are a must, and help ensure our 60+ events each year run without a hitch. You never know what each day is going to bring, so you have to be willing to go with the flow and make quick decisions on your feet.

Q: Tell us a little known fact about yourself:

A: I’m known for being transparent (just find me on Twitter or read my blog). I’m not sure there are many little known facts about me out there. If I had to pick something, though, it’s that I’m a history buff – specifically when it comes to World War II and learning more about our American Presidents. If I didn’t love Buffalo so much, I’d move to Washington D.C. in a minute.

Q: What do you like to do for fun?

A: Outside of work I am an active volunteer for a handful of organizations including danceability and Kevin Guest House. I am a diehard Buffalo sports fan and have season tickets for both the Buffalo Bills & Buffalo Sabres. I love to take pictures of everything, am a social media junkie, enjoy unwinding with a good book, and teach Pilates on the weekends. I’m also a big foodie and love exploring new restaurants in the region.

Q: Best Buffalo Hidden Gem:

A: Up until a few months ago, I would have said the Richardson Olmsted Complex, but now that’s it’s been rehabilitated and Hotel Henry has opened, it’s not so hidden anymore. We truly have so much amazing architecture in the region that I think we sometimes take for granted. Not many cities can boast having buildings designed by a handful of the most prominent architects of their time. Even if you aren’t an architecture buff, take a tour of some of the amazing buildings in town. It’s truly fascinating!

Q: What is your favorite part about living in Buffalo?

A: We have four seasons and I enjoy them all (yeah, even winter). There is really so much to do in Buffalo no matter what time of the year it is! You can always find an affordable and enjoyable way to spend a day with family and friends.
