Buffalo Niagara Partnership Wins Global NY Grant

The Buffalo Niagara Partnership announced today it was awarded a Global NY Grant. The grant will help the Partnership fund important export education programming aimed at increasing exposure to international export opportunities for Western New York companies.

The Partnership works extensively with a network of service providers through its existing programs to provide businesses export analysis, education, and assistance. The $17,000 grant will fund the expansion of these activities to include an export resource forum where companies will learn what resources exist to expand their market, an international business development event – CanAm Now – where attendees can meet like-minded individuals interested in doing business cross-border and beyond, and the development of an online marketplace directory.

“The United States and Canada are the largest trading partners in the world,” said Dottie Gallagher-Cohen, President & CEO of the Partnership.  “Buffalo Niagara’s geographic location puts us square in the middle of this significant economic engine and the Partnership is committed to continuing to help local businesses and employers take full advantage of it.  Being awarded a Global NY Grant validates the Partnership’s CanAm work and will allow us to take our programs and offerings to the next level.”

All programming and resources funded through the grant will launch in the spring of 2017.
