Buffalo Niagara Partnership Welcomes New Members to Organization’s Cabinet and Board of Directors
Regional Business Leaders Join Buffalo Niagara Partnership’s Board
Buffalo, NY – The Buffalo Niagara Partnership, the area’s regional chamber of commerce and privately-funded economic development organization, is pleased to announce recent changes to its Board of Directors.
Arthur Wingerter, President of Univera Healthcare, will serve as Chair of the Partnership’s distinguished 75-member board. Univera Healthcare is a nonprofit health plan that provides health care insurance related services to members across the eight counties of Western New York. Univera has 500 employees based at its Williamsville office.
In addition to Mr. Wingerter, four current board members have been recently elected as officers of the Partnership:
- Vice Chair – John Scannell, CEO & Chairman of the Board; Moog, Inc.
- Vice Chair – Paul Vukelic, President & CEO; Try-It Distributing Co., Inc.
- Secretary – Ben Obletz, President & CEO; First Amherst Development Group, LLC
- Treasurer – Tom Emmerling, Managing Partner; Dopkins & Company, LLP
The Partnership also welcomed six new regional executives to its Board of Directors:
Holly Gagnon – President & CEO; Seneca Gaming Corporation
Gagnon is currently the CEO of Seneca Gaming Corporation which includes Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino in Niagara Falls, NY, Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino in Buffalo, NY, and Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino in Salamanca, NY. Previously, Gagnon served as CEO for Chumash Enterprises for the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians.
Marty Griffith – President; BankOnBuffalo
Griffith is President of BankOnBuffalo, a division of CNB Bank. Headquartered in downtown Buffalo, BankOnBuffalo is a $2.8 billion community bank. Prior to launching BankOnBuffalo in 2016, Griffith held senior level positions at The Bank of Castile, Wyoming County Bank and Five Star Bank.
Ram Ramanujam – Plant Director; General Motors Tonawanda Engine
Ramanujam started his career with General Motors in 1989 and has held a series of positions both in the United States and abroad. Prior to managing the Tonawanda Engine plant, Ramanujam was assistant plant manager at Orion Assembly plant in Michigan.
Dave Rogers –Director & CEO; Life Storage
Rogers is a co-founder of Life Storage, (formerly Sovran Self Storage), one of the country’s largest providers of self-storage services. Life Storage owns and operates over 700 storage facilities in 28 states. The company was founded 35 years ago and went public in 1995.
Mark Sullivan – President & CEO; Catholic Health
Sullivan began his administrative career in 1994 as director of Business Operations for Mercy Home Care of WNY. He has been with Catholic Health since its inception in 1998, having previously served as Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer.
Bob Zak – President & CEO; Merchants Insurance Group.
Zak joined Merchants in 1985 after a career in public accounting. Prior to his appointment as President & CEO in 1995, Zak held the position of Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer.
