A complete and accurate count is essential to accessing hundreds of millions of dollars in federal aid. These dollars support housing, transportation, infrastructure improvements, education, healthcare, and other critical community programming that will help rebuild our local economies here in Buffalo Niagara. The data gathered from the census is also used to form public policies and redraw the boundaries of congressional seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.

The 2020 Census mission and goal is to count everyone once, only once, and in the right place.
We wanted to take the time out to provide you with information on the importance of completing the 2020 Census and the benefits of counting every living person in the U.S., especially in our community.
The Decennial Census only occurs every 10 years. Census data will be used to determine how hundreds of billions in federal funding will be annually distributed to communities across the country to support vital programs impacting housing, education, transportation, employment, health care, and public policies. Data is also used to redraw the boundaries of congressional seats each state has in the U.S. House of Representatives.
A complete count of our community is more important now than ever as this data can and will be used to determine any economic relief for years to come to individuals, families, and businesses that would go towards rebuilding our local economy in a post COVID-19 world.
