BNP’s third Manufacturing Council meeting of 2021 focused on how organizations of all sizes can plan for New York State’s changing cannabis laws and how to effectively communicate these changes to employees and stakeholders.
On March 31, 2021, NYS legalized adult-use cannabis and expanded its existing medical marijuana and cannabinoid hemp programs. This new law has significant short and long-term effects on all aspects of the workplace, including policies and human resource procedures.
The BNP Manufacturing Council was joined by a representative from Harris Beach PLLC for a legal analysis of the new regulations and a representative from the Employer Services Corporation to learn about human resources best practices in this changing environment.
