The Buffalo Niagara Partnership’s annual advocacy and membership survey showed that Western New York employers are seeking a more diverse workplace. Dottie Gallagher-Cohen, President and CEO of the Buffalo Niagara Partnership, said last year was the first time employers pointed to achieving a more diverse workforce as one of their top priorities.
“I think that there’s an absolute understanding that diverse teams are better teams, and quite frankly, to be able to attract more younger people in workplaces, young people want to work with diverse people. It’s sort of a generational shift, and employers want to catch up,” said Gallagher-Cohen.
