Power Up 2019 brings professional women in Buffalo Niagara together for an afternoon of inspiring, connecting, and celebrating. Don’t miss the energy of this one-of-a-kind event on Wednesday, April 10 as the Buffalo Niagara Partnership presents keynote speaker JoAnn Falletta, conductor of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, who will speak on the Culture of Leadership: Celebrating 20 years with the BPO.
Falletta is internationally celebrated as a vibrant ambassador for music, an inspiring artistic leader, and a champion of American symphonic music. She has guest conducted more than 100 orchestras in North America and many of the most prominent orchestras in Europe, Asia, South America, and Africa. With a discography of 112 titles, her discs have won three GRAMMY® Awards and received 10 nominations.
“We are proud to continue our support of Power Up, a great event celebrating professional women in Western New York,” said Laura Dolan, senior vice president and Buffalo market manager for Bank of America, one of the event’s presenting sponsors. “Championing women has long been a priority at Bank of America and we are thrilled to have JoAnn Falletta as the keynote speaker at this year’s presentation.”
Shirley Mullen, PhD, president of Houghton College, also a presenting sponsor, said Power Up is a great opportunity to share ideas on how local women leaders can dream bigger, strive harder, and work smarter.
“For more than 130 years, Houghton has been helping women achieve their dreams of gaining an education,” she said. “We’re pleased to be part of this exceptional opportunity to bring together women leaders from all different career sectors in our area.”
Holly Gagnon, president and CEO of presenting sponsor, Seneca Gaming Corp., added that the table talks following Falletta’s address will give attendees a unique chance to discuss women leadership and business leadership in general.
“Seneca Gaming has been a trailblazer in having women in leadership positions – I am the corporation’s third female CEO,” she explained. “We are proud to be a sponsor and look forward to sharing takeaways and building relationships with other passionate, professional women.”
