Several recent studies have linked innovation, profitability, and talent attraction to diversity and inclusion. The business case for diversity and inclusion is clear. What isn’t so clear is the roadmap for getting started.
We hope to change that with our upcoming Diversity & Inclusion Symposium, an event we are holding in partnership with the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo. It’s a daylong experience designed to teach the building blocks of diversity and inclusion and give attendees real-world tips and advice they can take back to their own workplaces.
Delivering the keynote address will be Mary-Frances Winters, the President & CEO of The Winters Group. Ms. Winters is a renowned leader in diversity and inclusion who, over the last 34 years, has worked with companies like Disney, Pixar, LinkedIn, Twitter, Domino’s, SunTrust, Kaiser Permanente, and Ingersoll Rand, among others.
Joining Ms. Winters are industry experts and executives at corporate leaders in diversity and inclusion whose real-world tips and advice will be invaluable in helping our employers develop strategies to hire and retain a diverse workforce. Speakers include:
- Maura A. Belliveau, Ph.D., the inaugural director of the Center for Diversity Innovation at the University at Buffalo. Dr. Belliveau will speak on how to disrupt implicit bias.
- Gregory Hodge, an organizational development consultant with Khepera Consulting, will speak on how companies can get started on building an inclusive workplace culture.
- Later in the day, Hodge will give attendees real-world advice for creating an action plan they can use to build an inclusive workforce at their own company or organization.
- The day will end with best practices and tips from corporate leaders in diversity and inclusion like Rich Products and Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
