2021 D&I Symposium Speaking Topic: Mentorship Matters & ERG Enrich

Stephanie Peete serves as the Internship and Career Pathways Program Supervisor for Employer Outreach with Say Yes Buffalo, which is a workforce development initiative that connects Say Yes scholars – current college students who are graduates of Buffalo Public and Charter Schools – with Western New York employers through trainings, employer tours and site visits, skills workshops and paid summer internship experiences.
In this role Stephanie is responsible for cultivating employer relationships, growing industry representation, connecting area leaders with racial equity training, and contributing to the strengthening of the youth employment ecosystem in the city of Buffalo, NY. In 2020 the Employer Think Tank series was launched, which provides area employers with quarterly race equity virtual learning opportunities. To date, nearly two hundred professionals from seventy-five unique organizations have attended.
Stephanie earned a Master’s in Public Administration from Hilbert College, and graduated from Canisius College with a dual Bachelor’s in Urban Studies and Sociology. Stephanie is passionate about racial equity, inclusion, and supporting young people in her community. She currently volunteers as a Say Yes Buffalo Mentor; serves on the Board of Directors for Theatre of Youth where she is chairperson of the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion committee; is a member of Women United through the United Way for Buffalo & Erie County; is a co-chair for the Women of Color Summit; and is a 2021 recipient of the Bar Association of Erie County’s Liberty Bell Award.

Our 4th Annual Diversity & Inclusion Symposium will feature national experts on D&I sharing their knowledge on subjects such as implicit bias, building an inclusive culture, and the best practices for D&I initiative implementation.
