STIMULUS SUMMARY & BUSINESS IMPLICATIONS

The President and Congress are on the brink of passing a massive $2 trillion stimulus package in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Senate approved the bipartisan “CARES” Act last night, while the House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on Friday.

This is what we know:

  • $250 billion in direct payments to individuals and families
  • $350 billion in small business loans
  • $250 billion in unemployment insurance benefits
  • $500 billion in loans for distressed companies
  • $100 billion for hospitals & health systems across US

The U.S. Chamber is providing a breakdown of the stimulus’ key provisions and how they will impact employers, employees, taxpayers and the economy moving forward. This document will be updated as more details emerge.
