Buffalo Niagara Partnership Engages Members with New Focus

Therese Hickok will lead New Customer Experience

BUFFALO–The Buffalo Niagara Partnership today announced the hiring of Vice President of Marketing and Engagement, Therese Hickok, formerly of Uniland Development Company.

In this newly created role, reporting directly to CEO Dottie Gallagher-Cohen, Hickok will build and maintain relationships with the organization’s constituencies including media, customers, prospects, economic development and municipal officials and community leaders. She will educate those constituencies about economic development initiatives of the Partnership and its members through communications, print, web and digital media. In addition, Hickok will develop products and services in order to improve member satisfaction, and identify issues for Buffalo Niagara related to government advocacy, economic and business development and convening.

“Telling the story of the region and the value our diverse membership brings to the advancement of regional economic development as a whole needs to be told,” said Dottie Gallagher-Cohen, president and CEO of the Buffalo Niagara Partnership. “The creation of this new role within my senior team will ensure a consistent focus and drive our bottom line by sharing valuable expertise, new products and services and valuable content for those doing business here today and tomorrow.”

Hickok will set the strategic direction of the Partnership’s marketing strategies in order to provide a new, revitalized customer experience for potential and current members, from beginning to end.

An active member of the community, Hickok currently serves on the Foundation Board of Child and Adolescent Treatment Services and chaired this year’s annual fundraising luncheon, Symbols of Hope. In addition Therese is a current board member of the Public Relations Society of America’s Buffalo Niagara Chapter where she serves as liaison to all WNY College Chapters of the Student Society. A former Executive Board Member of the Amherst Chamber of Commerce and Canisius College Alumni Board of Directors, Hickok earned a dual Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science/Pre-Law and Communications Studies from Canisius College and a Master’s Degree in Public Relations Management from SUNY at Buffalo.

The Partnership recently made two additional hires:

Dan Leonard
Director of Regional Development
Formerly employed by Peter J. Smith & Company as an urban planner and project manager, Leonard will be responsible for the Partnership’s Transportation Council, Development Advisory Council and Employer Outreach Program. He has more than 7 years experience in public and private sector economic development and urban planning.

Liz Callahan
Manager of Workforce Development

Callahan’s major responsibilities include workforce development, Buffalo Niagara 360 and Employer Outreach Program. She came to the Partnership from the healthcare recruitment and serves as chair of one of BN360’s strategic partners, B_Team. Callahan will fill the Partnership’s role in regional workforce development.
