Buffalo Niagara Partnership Announces 2017 ATHENA® Award Finalists

Awards recognize contributions made by individuals to advance the status of women in the Buffalo Niagara region.

BUFFALO, N.Y– The Buffalo Niagara Partnership announces that finalists have been selected for the 2017 ATHENA® Awards.  The recipients will be named at an awards ceremony luncheon on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.

The 27th Annual ATHENA Leadership Award® finalists are:

Anne Constantino – President, Horizon Corporations

Katherine Conway Turner – President, Buffalo State College

Dr. Ellen Grant – Senior Vice President of Chapter Programming, Say Yes to Education

Yvonne Minor-Ragan, Ph.D. – President/CEO, YMRagan Consulting, LLC

Norma Nowak, Ph.D. – Executive Director, UB’s New York State Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics & Life Sciences

 

The 8th Annual ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award® finalists are:

Melodie Baker – Director of Education, United Way of Buffalo & Erie County

Sarah Cotter – Vice President, Clinical Transformation & Operations, Catholic Medical Partners

Christina Pearl – Director of Corporate Communications, Horizon Health Services

Nicole Savage – President/CEO, Nature’s Way Environmental

Tayrin Tapia – Founder/CEO, Dear Tayrin, Inc.

The Buffalo Niagara Partnership is the area representative for ATHENA International, a non-profit organization that seeks to support, develop and honor women leaders. For the past 26 years, the Partnership has honored the valuable contributions made by area individuals to advance the status of women in the Buffalo Niagara region. The ATHENA Leadership Award® and the ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award® are given to individuals who have achieved professional success, contribute time and energy to making the region a better place, and actively assist others (particularly women) in reaching their potential.

The 2017 ATHENA Awards Ceremony Luncheon will take place on Thursday, March 30, 2017, from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center. Tickets are $75 per person and can be reserved online at www.thepartnership.org/events.
