Buffalo Niagara Partnership announces 2016 ATHENA® Award Finalists

Awards recognize contributions made by individuals to advance the status of women in the Buffalo Niagara region.

BUFFALO, N.Y– The Buffalo Niagara Partnership announced 10 local woman have been selected as finalists for the 2016 ATHENA® Awards. The recipients will be presented at an awards ceremony luncheon on Tuesday, March 15th at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.

The 26th Annual ATHENA Leadership Award finalists are: Dianna Civello, AVP for Institutional Advancement, Canisius College; Aimee Gomlak, Vice President of Women’s Services, Catholic Health; Amy Habib-Rittling, Partner, Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedmann; Althea Luehrsen, CEO, Leadership Buffalo; and Mary Travers-Murphy, Executive Director, Family Justice Center.

The ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award finalists are:  Kellena Kane, Real Estate Development Manager, Uniland Development Company; Cindi Marie McEachon, Executive Director, Hope of Buffalo, Peaceprints; Bridget Niland, JD, EdM, Director of Athletics/Special Assistant to the President, Daemen College; Morgan Williams-Bryant, Senior Vice President of Membership and Programs, Girl Scouts of Western New York; and Pamela Witter, Vice President, Development & Community Engagement, Trocaire College.

Two winners will be named, one winner from the ATHENA Leadership Award finalists and one winner from the ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award finalists.

The Buffalo Niagara Partnership is the area representative for ATHENA International, a non-profit organization that seeks to support, develop and honor women leaders. For the past 25 years, the Partnership has honored the valuable contributions made by area individuals to advance the status of women in the Buffalo Niagara region. The ATHENA Leadership Award® and the ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award® are given to individuals who have achieved professional success, contribute time and energy to making the region a better place, and actively assist others (particularly women) in reaching their potential.

The 2016 ATHENA Awards Ceremony Luncheon will take place on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.
