24th Annual Athena Awards Call for Nominations
BUFFALO–The Buffalo Niagara Partnership and title sponsor First Niagara Bank announce the call for nominations for the region’s 24th Annual ATHENA Awards®, in the categories of the following:
- ATHENA Leadership Award®
The ATHENA Award® honors exceptional individuals who have achieved the highest level of professional excellence, contribute time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community, and actively assist others, particularly women, in realizing their full leadership potential.
- ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award®
The ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award honors emerging leaders who demonstrate excellence, creativity and initiative in their business or profession, provide valuable service by contributing time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community. And who clearly serve as role models for young women personally and professionally.
Nominations are due by 12:00 p.m., Friday, July 19, 2013. Forms are available online at www.thepartnership.org/Athena or by calling (716)541-1759.
The nominees will be vetted by the selection committee in late July, with five finalists in each category to be announced August 9th. The finalists will be honored, and the recipients announced, at the 24th Annual ATHENA Awards® Luncheon on Friday, November 8, 2013 at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center. Sponsors include First Niagara Bank, Tops Friendly Markets and Guerrilla Marketing.
Mary Harley Gresham, vice provost for educational collaboration and engagement the University at Buffalo, was the 2012 Athena Leadership Award® recipient and Katie McKenna, communications and public relations manager at Tops Markets LLC, received the 2012 Athena Young Professional Leadership Award®
