Partnership Members Standup for Workers’ Comp Reform

New York State has the third highest Workers’ Compensation premium costs in the country.  To ease this growing burden on employers, the Buffalo Niagara Partnership is committed to achieving real reform.

The Partnership is joining forces with nearly 60 organizations all across New York in advocating for Workers’ Compensation reform to lower employer costs without compromising care and compensation for injured workers.  Fifty (and counting) Partnership members – representing some of the largest employers in the Buffalo Niagara region – are supporting our effort to push for commonsense reform in 2017.

The urgent need for Workers’ Compensation reform is outlined in our 2017 Advocacy Agenda. The topic also dominated the dozens of meetings the Partnership recently had with the leaders and members of the State Legislature during our recently Unshackle Upstate Lobby Day in Albany.

I want to thank our members for their critical support on this important issue.

Stay tuned for updates as our advocacy push moves forward.
