Three June events you shouldn't miss
The common denominator in all Partnership programs and initiatives is you, our members. Because of that, and based upon your clear input to us, virtually all of our programs now include extensive “networking” time – opportunities to establish and enhance business connections, and to talk about issues that can and do affect your bottom line.
With that in mind, I want to highlight three upcoming events in June. Their purpose is to provide settings where you can interact socially with fellow members and discuss the issues of the day, and for us to share with you meaningful and substantive information on all aspects of Buffalo Niagara’s business environment.
First up is the Annual Partnership BASH, which will take place Thursday, June 2nd at the Saturn Club from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. With no formal program, this is purely an opportunity to network and catch up with colleagues and friends in a setting conducive to casual conversation and, well, fun. Please join the members of the Partnership board of directors as we celebrate the Partnership’s work and members.
From the casual setting of the Saturn Club, we move on to an event that promises to generate great discussion and dialogue about the myriad issues facing our region and its employers.
The Partnership is presenting the 2005 Issues Summit on Thursday, June 16th at the Hyatt Regency Buffalo from 11:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
With keynote speaker NYS Attorney General Eliot Spitzer and seminar participants including NYS Regents Chancellor Robert Bennett and veteran political strategists Kiernan Mahoney and Joe Slade White, we are confident this event will bring current business issues to our members that are critical to improving your bottom line, addressing the competitiveness of the region, and determining our ability to attract jobs and investment.
Finally, there is our Annual Member Meeting on Tuesday, June 28th at Kleinhans Music Hall from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The meeting will include our “Honoring Excellence” program, which recognizes member firms, their respective CEO’s, and other community leaders for volunteer involvement with the Partnership and our mission of growing the Buffalo Niagara marketplace and the individual employers in it.
We will honor, Jad Cordes, President, The Integrated Realty and Development Corporation; Ange Fatta, President & CEO, BuffLink; Roger Marsham, Consul General, Canadian Consulate General; and BlueCross BlueShield of WNY. All have contributed significantly and selflessly to the collective improvement of our region.
From streamlining the City of Buffalo’s permitting system to the development and commercialization of life science technologies to the facilitation of sensible cross-border management to an overall commitment to the future of the City of Buffalo, these honorees have all worked hand-in-hand with the Partnership to make our region more competitive, attractive for investment, and positioned well for future growth and development.
I urge you to attend all of these events to network and to see firsthand how the Partnership is continuing to develop and execute programs and policies that aid your business, strengthen the competitiveness of our region, and continue to lay the groundwork for the future prosperity of Buffalo Niagara.
Sincerely,
Andrew J. Rudnick President & CEO
