Partnership Unveils "Rebuilding Buffalo Niagara 2005" Legislative Agenda

 

The Buffalo Niagara Partnership introduced its Rebuilding Buffalo Niagara 2005 legislative agenda on February 24.

The agenda focuses on five specific areas where a combination of funding and new or changed legislation is needed to help the Buffalo Niagara region become more competitive for new jobs and private sector investments.  The areas are:

  • The Canada - U.S. Border
  • Attracting and Retaining Business Investment (through Life Sciences Commercialization,    Brownfield Redevelopment, Workforce Investment and Economic Development Tools)
  • Providing Relief to Local Taxpayers
  • Strategic Regional Investments
  • The Waterfront

The regional agenda was developed by the Partnership in cooperation with the County of Erie and the City of Buffalo.  It will be formally presented to federal and state elected officials in the spring.
