Vice President

The Buffalo Niagara Partnership is seeking a Vice President, Public Affairs. The position, which is a member of the organization’s management team and reports directly to the President and CEO, is responsible for the Partnership’s advocacy, communications, events, media relations, public policy, and public relations functions. Reporting to the position are managers of advocacy, communications, events, and public policy; as well as several support staff and consultants. Competitive candidates must have a strong background in communications and government relations and minimum of 5 years experience in managing people and functions in these fields. In addition, a minimum of a bachelor’s degree as well as demonstrated strong written, oral, and interpersonal communications are required.

Communications Manager

The Buffalo Niagara Partnership, whose mission is to organize and undertake actions to expand private sector jobs and stimulate investments in the Buffalo Niagara region, has an opening for a Communications Manager. 

In this position, the ideal candidate will be responsible for achieving the Partnership's strategic objectives through implementation of a comprehensive communications, public relations and media outreach plan. They must also be experienced with developing and implementing a multi-faceted, proactive communications plan, intended to raise the profile of this organization. The ideal candidate has already been engaged in advocacy-related communications work and is familiar with the public policy issues impacting the region's business climate. Experience in working with the media is required.

Responsibilities include the following: manage all aspects of the Partnership's website and redesign, design, development and production of Annual Membership Directory, quarterly newsletters, and other print collateral. Must also be able to manage the speakers' bureau.

The Communications Manager must be a team player who is able to digest information, analyze it and effectively explain it to others. The incumbent is an effective communicator who writes and speaks persuasively and has excellent writing and project management skills. A bachelor's degree preferably in communications or public relations, plus 4 years minimum experience in communications, public/media relations or strategic communications.  Please forward cover letter along with resume and salary requirements.

FT/PT/FLEX TIME ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

Interns

The Buffalo Niagara Partnership, whose mission is to organize and undertake actions to expand private sector jobs and stimulate investments in the Buffalo Niagara region, currently has available several internship opportunities for summer/fall. Those majoring in marketing, human resources, political science, business/economic development, information technology or a field related to business development are encouraged to apply.

These positions require individuals to be detail-oriented, well-organized and able to meet deadlines. We are looking for candidates who are seeking an opportunity to learn the intricacies of economic development, public policy, business development, regional planning and marketing as it relates to this specific industry, as well as the IT and Human Resource areas. The position will be during regular office hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The number of hours and days are flexible and can be adjusted depending on project needs.
