Growing Your Business and the Region
Growing your business and, in turn, the region
July 28, 2009
My emails to you are generally focused on political and policy happenings that impact the Buffalo Niagara employer community. That is, after all, a very large part of why you have hired us and, thus, it is a very large part of what we actually do.
Today, however, I’m writing to remind you that we’re also here to help you one-on-one with issues that impact your business. Our mission of helping local businesses and, in turn, the region, grow is simultaneously (and often more tangibly) supported by the work we directly do with individual members and groups of members, to build your capacity for business success. A “big picture” economic development strategy can only be successful if the employers within it are successful.
So, let me share with you some practical information about how to connect with our staff for direct attention to your particular business needs.
Do you need help gathering information that will help you make decisions about expanding your marketplace or business, breaking into a new market with products and services, or accessing employer information in target industry sectors. We can provide demographic information, economic info and statistics, target marketing, business lists, maps, research assistance and additional resources for your specific business needs. Contact Mary Burnett for more information.
Are you a part of one of our region’s growing industry sectors, and need some one-on-one support with a specific issue, problem or opportunity? Contact our staff leads for each sector:
Agribusiness: Craig Turner
Advanced Manufacturing: Hadley Horrigan
Life Sciences: Renee Filip
Logistics: Craig Turner
Professional Services: Renee Filip
Renewable Energy: Hadley Horrigan
Do workforce issues top your list of challenges? Can we support your efforts to recruit and retain top talent, or prepare for a future expansion that will require a pipeline of trained, skilled workers? Contact Ann Mestrovich.
Can we help you connect with a targeted audience of business prospects? Or market your product or service to a specific group of local companies? Want to learn about social marketing tools and how they can assist your business? Do you need to increase recognition of your brand within the local business community? Lisa Roy can help.
I also hope you will be receptive if our staff reaches out to you – to learn more about your needs, challenges and opportunities. We know you’re busy, but your brief discussions with them will go a long way to help us continue to refine our efforts on your behalf.
Thanks for your on-going support of the Partnership’s work, and please feel free to contact me directly if you have a question and/or if I can help you to find the best contact within our organization to assist you.
Sincerely,
Andrew J. Rudnick
President & CEO
P.S. If you want the full Albany 2009 end-of-session report, or wish to learn more about the employer wage mandates we’ve been fighting against locally, in Albany and D.C. (we’re really being hit at every level and need to remain vigilant and united against this movement) please visit our blog.
