PARTNERSHIP ENDORSES CLINTON FOR RE-ELECTION
Senator’s work on Center of Excellence/Life Sciences earns her support of Buffalo Niagara business community
(BUFFALO, NY) – The Buffalo Niagara Partnership, the region’s largest business organization, announced today that it is endorsing New York State Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton for re-election. The Partnership has nearly 2,500 members who employ approximately 200,000 people in the Buffalo Niagara region.
"I'm so very honored to receive the support of the Buffalo Niagara Partnership. As the region's preeminent business organization, I'm particularly proud to have worked with the partnership to help address some of the challenges facing Buffalo and Niagara commerce," Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton said.
Louis P. Ciminelli, chairman of LPCiminelli, Inc. and chairman of the Partnership’s board of trustees, added: “Senator Clinton has demonstrated over the last six years her ability to use her influence to bring significant financial investment to the Buffalo Niagara region. With important regional projects such as the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus requiring federal money, it is important for us to have a strong voice in the Senate to bring that funding to Western New York.”
Senator Clinton has taken a leadership role, securing millions of dollars for the Buffalo Niagara region, including $14 million to be used for the development of Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences. She was also instrumental in securing long-sought funding for downtown Buffalo’s new federal courthouse.
“It was Senator Clinton who told the Buffalo Niagara region it needed to collaborate regionally and present one agenda to the federal delegation, and she has been a supporter of that effort – and, more importantly, the projects contained within – since the Partnership began facilitating the collaborative agenda with Niagara and Erie Counties and the City of Buffalo,” said Andrew J. Rudnick, Partnership president and CEO. “Senator Clinton has been a supporter of small business development across New York State, and she has been effective at securing federal dollars for the Buffalo Niagara region. The Partnership is enthusiastic in its support of Senator Clinton’s re-election campaign.”
