Home > ADVOCACY > Where We Stand > Opposition to Farmworkers Bill

April 19, 2010

Hon. William T. Stachowski
New York State Senate
918 Legislative Office Bldg.
Albany, NY 12247

Dear Senator Stachowski:

On behalf of the 2,500 employer members of the Buffalo Niagara Partnership, I urge you to vote “no” on S. 2247-B, the “NYS Farmworker Fair Labor Practices Bill” in tomorrow’s Agriculture Committee Meeting. Attached is the letter we sent on January 19, 2010. I wanted to reaffirm our opposition to the $200 million bill given that the proposed costly labor mandates and regulations would put Upstate New York’s multi-billion dollar agribusiness industry at a competitive disadvantage.

Sincerely,

Andrew J. Rudnick
